Bachelorette Cakepops

Before a woman ties the knot.. She must have one last night with her girlfriends! One of my friends had a bachelorette party this evening, so I had to make her something special. Beautiful and pink.. Cakepops!
These pops are milk chocolate, dipped in pink chocolate, and decorated with candy pearls. Each are individually wrapped and adorned with a diamond solitaire engagement ring. {Don't worry, they're not real!} haha! Enjoy and feel free to leave a comment!

Valentine's Day - For My Daughter

My daughter is two years old, and my two year old has enough stuffed animals to last her a life time. I had enough roses in the house to last me an entire life - Seriously. So stuffed animals = check, roses = check, true love for my daughter = check. What in the world could I give my baby for Valentine's Day this year? Well.... I had some leftover mixture of cake/frosting just chilling in the fridge. So this is what I came up with:

Heart cakepops! And man.. did she LOVE them!

Valentine's Day Cakeball Gift Boxes!

So this Valentine's Day, I decided to make cake ball gift boxes for people to buy instead of taking tons of custom orders. That would have made it really hard on me, considering my last day of classes were the 14th. So I messed around, did some shopping, and this is what I came up with for this past Valentine's Day:

Customers had two choices: They could've ordered a big or small box. The big box held 6 cakeballs and sold for $10.50, the small box held four cakeballs and sold for $7.50. I had different boxes, some were hearts, others were round, and some were square. Everyone that received a Valentine's Day cakeball gift box really enjoyed their gift! I've had many people contact me back to tell me thank you and that they were excited to order again. I have awesome customers :)

Catching Up!

Wow! So sorry you guys for not keeping up with my blog. Ever since I created Ditzy Delights, I've been super busy with custom orders, Valentine's Day orders, my two year old, and finishing up my classes. I actually finished my associate's degree on Valentine's Day! Talk about BEST V-day present ever! I officially graduate with an Associate of Science Medical Billing and Coding degree on Feb 25th. Instead of returning to school this March, I decided to take the rest of this semester off and return to school to start on my bachelors degree in May. So that means that I'll get a lot of work complete with Ditzy Delights! Woo hoo! I'll be able to set up a PayPal account, work out an official menu and price list, and more importantly.. come up with new ideas for cakepops and such. Before I show pictures of what I've been up to, I have a surprise! For Valentine's Day, my wonderful mom bought me a Cricut Cake cutter!!! It is literally the COOLEST thing ever. My mom has the original [scrapbooking] Cricut, and she stumbled across the cake one. Don't know what it does? It's genius! All you do is slip in a sheet of fondant, click what you want it to cut out, and it will cut out the shape/decoration/letter,etc that you want. Granted, you have to buy the different cartridges that contain the different shapes, decorations, letters, animals.. whatever. But isn't that awesome?!

Now for the goodies. Here are a few of the probjects I've been working on the past couple of months:

These two pictures are owl cakepops. They were made for "A's" first birthday! Luckily, I had "A's" mommy's help to make them all! We made about 60-70 of the little guys. Although this was our first time for both of us to make owl cakepops, they aren't perfect, but they sure did turn out darling! The owl pops were a HUGE hit at the birthday party. And by HUGE, I mean.. ginormous! Everyone kept going back for seconds, thirds, fourths... And most importantly, the birthday girl couldn't get enough of them either! The owl pops were made with the confetti cake, white icing, and dipped in cocoa candy melts. We used sliced almonds for the wings, chocolate chips for the ears, flower-shaped sprinkles for the feet, small peanut-butter chips for the beaks, and the candy necklace candies for the eyes. Thank you, "A's" mommy, for coming over and helping me make these! I'm so glad you asked me to help you with sweet "A's" very first birthday party :)

These next few pictures were for my neighbor's welcome home party. He's in the Navy, and was in Kuwait for a while. His mom, aka my second mom, asked me to make cupcakes and cakepops... and this is what I came up with!

The cakepops were made with a yellow cake, buttercream frosting, and then dipped in vanilla flavored candy melts. I was able to make 40 cakepops, so I made 13 red, 13 white, and 13 blue.. and ate the left over one! :) I simply bought the red and white candy melts, but added blue and a hint of black dye to white to make this color blue. After the cakepop was dipped in candy melts, I then sprinkled coordinating colored sprinkles all over them. Last, but not least, I tied yellow ribbons on each stick and hot glued the Navy tag to each one in honor of our sea man :)
